Commercial Roofs: New Construction

Commercial Roofs: New Construction

New construction projects provide an excellent opportunity to showcase our expertise and provide our clients with high-quality roofing solutions. When it comes to commercial roofs for new construction, there are several factors that we take into consideration. We will work closely with your general contractor to ensure that our roofing solutions are aligned with the building’s design and construction timeline. We understand that delays in construction can be costly, so we strive to complete our work on time and within budget while maintaining safety and making sure your roof is up to the code.

Materials

An important factor in commercial roof construction is the type of roofing material that will be used. Each roofing system has its own advantages and disadvantages, and we work with our clients to determine which material is best suited for their specific needs.

Built-Up Roof (BUR) – One option is a built-up roof comprising layers of roofing felt and asphalt. The top layer is usually stone or gravel.

Single-Ply – The roofing membrane is made up of a single layer of material such as PVC, EPDM, and the most popular, TPO. This material is energy efficient and highly durable.

Modified Bitumen – A modified bitumen roof is a type of built-up roof that is made from asphalt and reinforced with either polyester or fiberglass. Unlike traditional BUR, this roofing’s top layer is reflective, which helps lower utility cost

Metal Roofing– This is also a popular choice for commercial buildings, as they are durable and low-maintenance.

Installation

Installing a roof on a commercial building for new construction involves several steps.  After the roof design and materials are selected based on the needs, budget, and local building codes, the roof deck needs to be prepared and any necessary insulation installed. Then, the roofing materials can be applied. Flashing and edge details also need to be installed to ensure a watertight seal. Finally, the roof needs to be inspected for quality and any necessary adjustments made.

Maintenance

To help extend the life of your roof, we also offer ongoing maintenance and repair services. Regular maintenance can help identify potential issues before they become major problems, saving our clients time and money in the long run.
